One Day trip at Meteora

Having published 20 photo albums and travel guides already, One Day Publications “narrates” beautiful mobile stories. Books featuring photos taken with a smartphone are now used as guiding reference to a series of unique photography tutorials that combine expert knowledge-gaining with the fascination of exploring some of the most beautiful Greek landscapes.

The unique experience of selecting your subject, capturing it and processing the outcome, is what One Day Tours offer. A journey into the magical world of landscape photography while on the actual spot.

If you have ever wondered about the thinking mechanism that steers the making of a travel book, the way a photographer perceives reality as this generously unfolds through the lens, join the One Day Tours and roam the countryside to find out firsthand.

First stop: Meteora

A guided tour with an experienced mountain guide and a rare opportunity for uninterrupted photo shooting at the phenomenal stone crafted monastic complex.

We will follow the footsteps of the monks along the narrow gravel paths under the shadow of the imposing rocks, the wind feels as the divine breath of nature that surrounds you in its embrace echoing the toil of the first hermits – choose the right moment to step into the magnificent frame of this remarkable monastic hideaway – UNESCO’s World Heritage Site – and snap its beauty exploiting all spectrums of natural lighting.

We will visit some of the monasteries, watch the climbers as they silently pray in their own manner all the way through their breathtaking endeavor and join the pic-nic of delicious local food out in the forest.

Lunch at the scenic settlement of Kastraki, catching our breaths before heading on to more “clicks” around the picturesque narrow streets. We will visit the beautiful property of a religious painter and the workshop of a pottery artist. A visit at the impressive Museum of Geological Formations of Meteora, housed in the old building of the Primary School of Kastraki, wraps up the experience. Some delightful local wine tasting at a special wine & chocolate pairing event is also in the plan.
The awarded Cocoowa Chocolate will share pro tips on the selection process of chocolate, while treating us with dark and white chocolate bites, masterfully prepared to couple the featured wine varieties. All we have to do is taste and rate the pairs, as the photo competition that follows offers the winner the awarded pair as a prize.
